To start with…
The aim of the group « Ligne de Partage », created in Anglet (France) in December 2014, is to take interest in all local communities that are crossed by the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea (the A/M-Line). The nine countries concerned are: the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Andorra, Spain and Morocco.
The A/M-Line measures more than 8.000 km from its extreme end in the North, on the border between Poland and the Czech Republic, and its extreme southern point in the center of Morocco. From the Sudeten Mountains to the High Atlas, there are thousands of curiosities, often unexpected, to discover and to share in our group.
Our fist aim is to make known the 1.500 communities, that are crossed by the A/M-Line or that border it, to coordinate their initiatives and to create a strong and long-lasting bond between them.
The A/M-Line will also provide an important educational guideline, contributing to develop within the public, even children, the interest in geography: mountain ranges, streams, ecosystems, borders and constructions made by man.
In line with the A/M-Line, closely related to natural running water and to a certain authenticity of nature, we will respect the values which are mentioned in our ethical charter.
This web-site gives for a large part free access. Our visitors dispose of a link contact for any questions.
The section members is available for a symbolic annual contribution; it allows to take an active part in the life of our group, gives access to specific documents, allows to publish photos and testimonies concerning the theme of the A/M-Line. These documents will contribute to share information and reinforce our ties.
The language of our group is French, but we will do our best to open it to all the languages that are spoken along the A/M-Line. And we start with this introduction, published in 10 languages.
You are welcome on our line and we thank you for your support.
